The Muvi Television News Network recently reported on Barotseland’s request for PCA Arbitration with Zambia.
For the time being, President Sata of Zambia has been unwilling to sign the PCA arbitration agreement that has been signed by hundreds of Barotseland representatives. This is unfortunate, since the PCA arbitration agreement merely would entail that the dispute over Barotseland be settled by a neutral and independent arbitral tribunal, in accordance with international law. By refusing to sign such a clause, the President of Zambia may be viewed as implicitly acknowledging Zambia’s breach of international law.
It would be a historic moment if both Parties were able to resolve this dispute in a peaceful manner via international arbitration.
